Kulgam: In a significant step towards promoting a drug-free society and empowering the youth of the nation, MY Bharat Anantnag successfully organized the District-Level “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” Programme at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Qaimoh, on 5th August 2026. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating widespread awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse while inspiring young people to become ambassadors of a healthy, disciplined, and responsible lifestyle.
The event was graced by Shri Shahzad Alam (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, as the Chief Guest. The programme was also attended by the Tehsildar Qaimoh, Principal, GHSS Qaimoh, and the Deputy Director, MY Bharat Anantnag, as the Guests of Honour, along with officials, faculty members, MY Bharat volunteers, and a large gathering of enthusiastic students.Addressing the gathering, Shri Shahzad Alam (IAS) emphasized the collective responsibility of society in combating the menace of substance abuse. He urged the youth to channel their energy towards education, sports, innovation, and nation-building, highlighting that the vision of Viksit Bharat can only be realized through healthy, skilled, and socially responsible young citizens. He appreciated the efforts of MY Bharat Anantnag for organizing such an impactful awareness programme and encouraged students to become role models in spreading the message of a drug-free India.The Guests of Honour also addressed the participants and stressed the importance of value-based education, positive thinking, and active youth participation in social awareness campaigns. They encouraged students to remain vigilant against drug abuse and to motivate their peers towards constructive and productive activities.To effectively communicate the anti-drug message through creative expression, a series of competitions was organized during the programme. These included Reel Making, Nukkad Natak, Painting Competition, Slogan Writing, Debate Competition, Folk Dance, Folk Song, and Slam Poetry. Participants from various educational institutions displayed remarkable creativity, confidence, and talent while highlighting the harmful consequences of drug addiction and the importance of leading a healthy and purposeful life.The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation and were judged by an expert panel based on originality, creativity, presentation, and relevance to the theme. The performances and presentations reflected the commitment of the youth towards building a drug-free society and received appreciation from the dignitaries and audience alike.The programme concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony. Winners and position holders in all competitions were felicitated with prizes and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances. Participation certificates were also distributed to all participants as a token of appreciation for their enthusiastic involvement and valuable contribution to the success of the programme.The event concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming MY Bharat Anantnag’s commitment to continuously engaging young people in meaningful initiatives that promote social awareness, national development, and active citizenship. The programme served as a powerful platform to educate, inspire, and mobilize youth towards the shared vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat and a Viksit Bharat, reinforcing the role of young citizens as catalysts for positive change in society.
