DC Budgam takes department- wise review, stresses max beneficiary coverage under Govt schemes

Athar Directs timely, quality completion of projects, prompt public service delivery to public

Budgam : Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, Wednesday  chaired a department-wise review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing developmental projects and implementation of Government schemes and flagship programmes across the district.

During meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the performance of key departments, including Public Works (R&B), Industries & Commerce, Power Development, Agriculture, Revenue, Sheep & Animal Husbandry, Irrigation & Flood Control, Rural Development, Jal Shakti, Social Welfare and NIC. Developmental works in the sub-divisions of Beerwah, Khansahib and Chadoora were also reviewed.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to ensure maximum coverage of eligible beneficiaries under Government welfare schemes and directed all departments to intensify awareness and outreach so that no deserving beneficiary is left out.

He reviewed the progress of developmental works, digitization of revenue records and land transfers for various projects, directing officers to expedite pending works and ensure timely completion with quality standards.

Reviewing public service delivery, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officers to ensure prompt disposal of public services and grievances, regularly update departmental portals and strengthen awareness about Government schemes. He also directed the concerned departments to expedite restoration of flood-affected water supply schemes and other essential infrastructure.

At the outset, the concerned officers apprised the Deputy Commissioner of progress achieved under various sectors and coverage of beneficiaries under various welfare schemes across the district.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Vivek Agarwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Taufeeq Ahmad Gazi and other district officers.
