Shopian : A meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) for scrutiny and approval of beneficiary applications under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the JK Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) was held under the Chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Shopian, Shishir Gupta here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian Wednesday .
During the meeting, committee carried out a detailed scrutiny of applications received under various components of HADP and JKCIP. After due deliberations and verification of eligibility, committee approved 197 applications under HADP and 151 applications under JKCIP, paving the way for extending project benefits to eligible farmers and agri-entrepreneurs of the district.
The DDC emphasized the need for ensuring complete transparency, accountability and timely implementation of all approved projects.
He directed the concerned departments to expedite the necessary formalities so that the benefits reach the selected beneficiaries without delay. He further stressed that the schemes should contribute to increasing farmer’s income, promoting entrepreneurship, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthening the agricultural sector in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, GM, DIC, Sharjeel Ali Naik, ACR, Shakoor Ahmed Dar, DDM, NABARD, Zubair Wasil, DSEO, Bilqees Zahoor, CHO, Muneer Ahmed, LDM, Farooq Ahmed Dar and senior officers of the Agriculture Production Department, including district-level officers from the allied sectors.
