Kishtwar :   Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Telecom Committee (DTC) to review the status of telecom infrastructure and assess the progress of ongoing projects in the District.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress made on the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the directions issued at the previous DTC meeting.

While reviewing the progress of the 4G Saturation Project, the Deputy Commissioner directed for timely completion of the remaining sites to provide reliable mobile connectivity to all uncovered and remote areas of the district. He emphasized the need for close coordination among all stakeholder departments to facilitate timeline completion.

The SDM Marwah was asked to identify suitable State land at Afti and Choidraman and Renaie areas for the installation of 4G telecommunication towers by the BSNL. The Revenue Department was asked to expedite the land identification and transfer process so that work on the remaining towers can be taken up without delay.

Reviewing the status of Right of Way (RoW) applications on the Unified Portal of the Department of Telecommunications, the ACR informed that there was no pendency. It was further informed that the Call Before You Dig (CBUD) app is functioning smoothly in the district. The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the importance of strict usage of the CBUD app to prevent damage to underground telecom infrastructure during excavation works across the district.
