Budgam : A significant voluntary blood donation camp, along with a free medical and eye check-up initiative, was successfully held at the Main Bus Stand in Budgam, organized by the Human Rights Council of India in partnership with KP Volunteers and Noora Hospital’s medical team.
Under the leadership of Dr. Sandeep Singh, the event saw enthusiastic participation, resulting in the collection of nearly 100 units of blood, which will be crucial for patients in need of emergency transfusions, including those with serious medical conditions. In addition to the blood donation, the camp provided a variety of healthcare services, including general health screenings and consultations conducted by a team of medical professionals. Hundreds of attendees benefited from assessments of blood pressure, blood sugar, and body mass index, highlighting the initiative’s dual focus on promoting voluntary blood donation and raising awareness about preventive healthcare. Dr. Sandeep Singh emphasized the humanitarian value of blood donation and encouraged regular contributions, particularly among the youth, while also advocating for the importance of routine health check-ups for early disease detection. The organizers expressed appreciation for the collective efforts of healthcare workers, volunteers, and local residents, noting that the strong turnout reflects an increasing awareness and commitment to community service in Budgam.
