Srinagar :  Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date for admission to its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL) programmes for the July 2026 academic session till August 16, 2026.

The extension has been granted in view of requests received from students across the country, providing an opportunity to prospective learners who could not complete their admission formalities within the earlier deadline. The extension covers nearly 300 academic programmes offered through the ODL and Online modes.

Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, Dr. A.H. Rizvi, said the decision reflects the University’s commitment to providing accessible and flexible higher education opportunities to learners across the Kashmir Division, including the Union Territory of Ladakh. He informed that August 16, 2026, will be the final date for admissions under the July 2026 session.

Dr. Rizvi also informed that the last date for re-registration for learners enrolled in the second and third years of ODL and Online programmes has likewise been extended till August 16, 2026. He advised students to complete the re-registration process well in time to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
