Says “Technology and Coordination Key to Border Security”
New Delhi : The Union Government has implemented a multi-pronged strategy to check cross-border infiltration, combining advanced technology, infrastructure development, increased patrolling, and enhanced agency coordination. In a written Lok Sabha response to MP Anil Yeshwant Desai regarding border management and unauthorized entry, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai detailed the government’s measures. Rai stated, “The government has also strengthened border infrastructure by developing fencing, border outposts, roads and helipads to improve vigilance and mobility of security forces,” adding that regular patrolling has been intensified through area domination exercises, naka points, and mobile teams. Officials noted that surveillance equipment like CCTV, drones, and automatic number plate recognition systems are actively deployed, while intelligence agencies maintain real-time information sharing. The strategy also includes managing designated border entry-exit points, engaging local communities, and coordinating enforcement with neighboring nations.
