Thatrai : Adolescent Health Day was observed Monday at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Thathri under the Rashtriya Kishor SwasthyaKaryakram (RKSK).
The objective of the programme was to generate awareness about the health related issues and encourage healthy lifestyle practices among adolescents.
Adolescent Health Counsellors Pinku Sharma and Pooja Sharma delivered informative sessions, explaining the key components of RKSK. They sensitized students about adolescent-friendly health services provided under the RKSK including nutrition, counseling on mental health, menstrual hygiene and prevention of substance abuse.
Blood Grouping and the Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment of the students were conducted to promote health awareness and facilitate early identification of potential health concerns.
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students actively participated and clarified their health-related queries. The initiative was well received by the participants and reaffirmed the Health Department’s commitment to promoting adolescent health, well-being and preventive healthcare through sustained awareness and screening activities.
