Srinagar, Aug 3: The search operation to trace the body of a 14-year-old boy who drowned in the Pohru River in Sopore entered its second consecutive day on Monday.
Officials said the search operation is being carried out by the SDRF Component Baramulla and Sub-Component Sopore to trace and retrieve the body of Furqan Rafiq Hajam (14), son of Mohd Rafiq Hajam, a resident of Wadoora, Sopore.
The teenager drowned in the Pohru River at Wadoora in Sopore area of Baramulla district while bathing on August 2.
Despite sustained efforts by the rescue teams on Sunday, the body could not be recovered. The search operation resumed on Monday and continued throughout the day, officials said.
They added that SDRF teams are making all possible efforts to retrieve the body.
