Srinagar, Aug 1: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday strongly condemned the killing of two labourers in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, describing the incident as “dastardly” and expressing profound grief over the loss of innocent lives.
In a statement, the Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia relief of ₹10 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the next of kin of the deceased. He said the financial assistance would be in addition to the immediate relief of ₹6 lakh each to be provided by the District Administration.
Omar Abdullah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength to help them endure the irreparable loss.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the affected families, the Chief Minister said the administration stands firmly with them during this difficult time.
