Ganderbal : The Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) celebrated six years of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 by hosting an interactive session focused on “Digital Pedagogy for Future-Ready Education.”
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Amit Gautam from the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, who emphasized the importance of digital pedagogy in achieving the NEP’s vision of establishing India as a global knowledge superpower. He called for active participation from all stakeholders in implementing the policy, highlighting the necessity of integrating information and communication technology (ICT) into educational practices to meet contemporary learner needs. Prof. Haribhau Bhapkar introduced his innovative “BABY-MAA” pedagogy, which aims to transform classrooms into incubation centers for creativity and problem-solving, ultimately leading to tangible outcomes such as research papers and startups. He remarked on the potential of education as a foundational element for entrepreneurial ventures in India. Additionally, Prof. Syed Zahoor Geelani discussed CUKashmir’s significant contributions to NEP implementation, particularly in curriculum innovation and outcome-based learning. Prof. Gautam further noted the need for engaging and experiential content to cater to the short attention spans of today’s tech-savvy students. He posited that while technology will not replace teachers, it can enhance their effectiveness when utilized by skilled educators. The event concluded with a Q&A session, facilitated by Dr. Firdous Sofal.
