Victims, including a 10-year-old boy, shifted to SKIMS Soura after initial treatment at SDH Kangan
Ganderbal, July 31: Five persons, including a minor, were injured after a Xylo vehicle crashed into an electric pole at Hayan Bridge in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday, officials said.
Officials said the Xylo vehicle, bearing registration number JK10-5974, was involved in the accident after it reportedly veered off course and rammed into an electric pole at Hayan Bridge, leaving all five occupants injured.
The injured were identified as Ashgar Ali (27), son of Mohammad Hassan Ali, a resident of Kargil, who was driving the vehicle; Hassan Askri, son of Ghulam Hussain; Junaid Iqbal; Liyaqat Ali, son of Ghulam Abbas; and 10-year-old Mohd Danish, son of Abdul Bari, all residents of Leh.
All the injured were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for immediate medical attention. After receiving first aid, doctors referred them to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, for specialised treatment.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the cause of the accident.
