Awantipora : Police on Thursday said that it has booked two habitual drug peddlers under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act to curb local drug distribution networks.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, police said that individuals have been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Ganie and Sheeraz Ahmad Dar, both residents of Lidermar, Tehsil Litter, Shahoora. Following formal detention orders from the competent authority, both accused have been lodged in Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
In its statement Police firther said that several cases were already registered against the duo, who were actively involved in supplying illegal narcotic substances to local youth across Police District Awantipora and neighboring areas.
