Srinagar, July 28: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the road accident at Gund in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, in which several pilgrims returning to Srinagar after performing the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra were injured.
In a statement, the Chief Minister directed the authorities to ensure the injured pilgrims receive the best possible medical care without any delay.
He also deputed Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo to visit the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar, and personally oversee the treatment of the injured.
The Chief Minister said the government is closely monitoring the situation and all necessary assistance will be extended to those affected by the accident.
Officials said the injured pilgrims were shifted to SKIMS for treatment, where their condition is being closely monitored.
