New Delhi, Jul 25 (UNI) Pralhad Joshi was on Saturday appointed as the new Education Minister, in addition to his existing portfolios, according to an official government statement.
The announcement came shortly after union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the union Council of Ministers following nearly a month-long agitation by students led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
The President accepted Pradhan’s resignation on the advice of the Prime Minister, the statement said.
Joshi has been given additional charge of the Ministry of Education while continuing to hold the portfolios of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy.
