Civil Defence Experts Train Participants in Disaster Management and Emergency Response
Srinagar : The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Srinagar, in collaboration with Civil Defence, organised a disaster response training programme for Physical Education Teachers, Civil Defence volunteers and other frontline personnel.
The programme was aimed at strengthening the preparedness and response capabilities of participants to effectively deal with natural disasters and emergency situations. Participants were imparted practical training in rescue operations, first aid, emergency response and safety measures.
The programme was inaugurated by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Srinagar, Ghulam Hassan, in the presence of Civil Defence Divisional Warden Srinagar, Rahi Riaz. Civil Defence instructors Ijaz Ahmad and Shaukat Ahmad were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Rahi Riaz highlighted the important role of Civil Defence in disaster management and urged participants to utilise the skills acquired during the training to promote disaster preparedness and public awareness in their respective areas.
Ghulam Hassan stressed the need to equip frontline personnel with essential skills to respond effectively during emergencies, saying such training programmes enhance their capacity to provide timely assistance to the public and perform their duties as first responders.
