Advance food grain lifting approved for monsoon preparedness

Srinagar| July, 21: The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department has decided to undertake advance lifting and distribution of foodgrains under the NFSA and NPHH schemes for August, September and October 2026 to ensure uninterrupted food security during the monsoon season.

The department has directed that the entire distribution be completed by August 31, enabling beneficiaries to receive their three-month entitlement through a single e-PoS transaction. Officials have been instructed to coordinate with the Food Corporation of India, JKRTC and district administrations to ensure timely lifting, transportation and distribution of foodgrains.
