Pulwama : Police on Monday said that it apprehended a drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered a contraband substance.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Police said that during a routine naka checking operation, a police party from Police Station Kakapora intercepted a suspicious individual coming from Oukhoo.
The apprehended person was identified as Jasir Ahmad Khanday, a resident of Kakapora. Upon searching him, officers recovered approximately 27 grams of a brown sugar-like substance from his possession. Following the recovery, the accused was taken into custody and the contraband was seized.
A case under FIR No. 58/2026 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kakapora. Further investigation is underway to trace the supply source as well as both forward and backward linkages involved in the network.
