Srinagar/April, 3: Militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen has claimed the responsibility of Nowhatta attack in which a cop Shameem Ahmed of Gurez Bandipora was killed and 10 security personnel were injured.
“The attack was carried out by the militants belonging to our outfit. We have already declared that we will strike at any time, any place to show our presence across State,” Operational Spokesperson Burhanduddin told local news gathering agency CNS over phone.
Pertinently, a grenade was lobbed on a joint police and CRPF party at Nowhatta on Sunday evening leaving three CRPF men and seven policemen injured while a young cop lost his life.
