Ganderbal, July 17: A fire broke out at a residential house in the Gutlibagh area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday, triggering a prompt response from the Fire and Emergency Services, officials said.
An official that the blaze erupted at the residence of Nawaz Khan, son of Sher Mohammad Khan, a resident of Khyber Mohalla, Gutlibagh.
Soon after the incident, Fire and Emergency Services personnel, assisted by police and local residents, rushed to the spot and launched a firefighting operation to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining structures.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or injuries. The extent of damage to the property is being assessed, the official said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident, while further investigation is underway.
