LG Reviews Offerings, Donations Management System at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine

Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday paid obeisance at the Holy Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Shrine and offered prayers for peace, good health and prosperity of all.
During his visit to the revered shrine, the Lieutenant Governor prayed for the well-being of the people and sought blessings for peace and progress.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, located in the Trikuta Hills of Reasi district, is one of the country’s most revered pilgrimage destinations, attracting millions of devotees every year.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) to review the management system for offerings and donations received at the holy shrine.
The meeting reviewed the collection, counting, accounting, safeguarding and utilisation of devotees’ offerings to ensure transparency, accountability and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Board members and senior officials were informed about the institutional mechanisms governing donations received through donation boxes, counters, online platforms and in the form of precious metals. The presentation also highlighted surveillance systems, banking safeguards, periodic audits and compliance with statutory provisions and Government of India guidelines.
The Board noted the security measures adopted for handling and processing precious metal offerings through government-approved institutions, including the Reserve Bank of India and the India Government Mint, Hyderabad.
After a detailed review, the Shrine Board expressed satisfaction over the transparency, accountability and efficiency of the existing arrangements and appreciated the safeguards adopted to ensure devotees’ offerings are managed with the highest standards of integrity and financial discipline.
