Shopian : Police on Tuesday said that it has attached a residential house worth over ₹71 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Shopian district.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said the property, belonging to Showkat Ahmad Naik of Saidpora Bala, was identified as having been acquired through proceeds generated from the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics.
The attachment proceedings linked to FIR No. 11/2024 were executed transparently in the presence of a police team, an Executive Magistrate, and local community representatives (Lambardar and Chowkidar). Authorities reiterated their firm commitment to dismantling the financial backbone of the drug trade.
