Sopore : Police on Monday said that it has attached a double-story house and premium land belonging to an absconding drug peddler, Mohammad Ashraf Mir (alias Ashu).
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that valued at over ₹1.23 crore, the assets were frozen under Section 68F of the NDPS Act after financial investigations proved they were built entirely on drug money.
Police in its statement further said that by attaching illegally acquired assets, the objective is to deprive drug traffickers of the proceeds of crime and dismantle the economic foundations of the narcotics network, reiterating therein that stringent legal as well as financial action shall continue against all those involved.”
