Srinagar :Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday took immediate cognizance of the road accident near Toldi Nallah in Udhampur, in which six Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh were injured, and directed the civil administration and health authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for them.
According to an official communiqué, the Lieutenant Governor spoke to senior administrative and medical officials and instructed them to provide all necessary assistance for the swift recovery of the injured pilgri
In a post on X, Sinha said the pilgrims, all from Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, were travelling to the Pahalgam base camp for the annual Amarnath Yatra when their vehicle skidded off the road near Toldi Nallah in Udhampur district.
He said one pilgrim sustained serious injuries and was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for advanced treatment, while the remaining five, who are in stable condition, are undergoing treatment at GMC Udhampur.
“I have directed the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and medical officials at GMC Jammu and GMC Udhampur to ensure they receive the best possible treatment,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Sinha also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured devotees, saying, “I pray to Lord Shiva for their swift recovery.”
