Srinagar : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday met a delegation of the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, District Srinagar, and Hiranagar MLA Adv. Vijay Kumar Sharma at the Raj Bhawan, where they discussed community welfare and development-related issues.
The Sikh delegation, led by Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee President S. Jaspal Singh, raised several issues concerning the beautification of Gurdwara Chattipatshahi at Rainawari, the occupation of Gurdwara premises at M.R. Gunj, and other welfare matters pertaining to the community.
Later, Hiranagar MLA Adv. Vijay Kumar Sharma called on the Lieutenant Governor and projected various developmental issues related to his constituency. He also reviewed the progress of the proposed Arun Jaitley International Cricket Stadium in Hiranagar and expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his support in developing the mega sports infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Amarnath Yatra-2026 crossed the two-lakh pilgrim mark within eight days of its commencement.
In a post on X, Lieutenant Governor Sinha described the milestone as a “remarkable testament to faith” and said the pilgrimage was progressing smoothly on both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
“With the pilgrimage running smoothly on both the routes, the spiritual celebration is set to welcome a steady arrival of devotees in the coming weeks. Har Har Mahadev!” the Lieutenant Governor said.
