Says “NC a party that backs people’s aspirations”

Srinagar : Former District Development Council Chairperson Safina Baig has officially joined the National Conference, marking a significant political shift. She joined National Conference  at the party headquarters in Srinagar, with prominent figures such as party president Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah present.

Safina, who is married to former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig, expressed her long-standing contemplation about joining the National Conference, emphasizing that it aligns with the aspirations of the people. In her remarks to the media, Safina praised Omar Abdullah’s leadership, stating her satisfaction with his governance amidst challenging circumstances in Jammu and Kashmir. While she refrained from commenting on the party’s manifesto due to her recent membership, she expressed confidence in the National Conference’s commitment to fulfilling its promises. Her joining is anticipated to strengthen the party’s influence, particularly in Baramulla district and Pahari regions, where she has a notable political presence.
