DC Kulgam inspects Dev Works in DH Pora, Reviews Public Infra Projects, Rural Dev Schemes

Kulgam :Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, Monday conducted an extensive tour of the DH Pora subdivision to inspect ongoing development works and review the implementation of key rural development schemes.

He reviewed the construction of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Office, Treasury Office and other ongoing projects.

Stressing the importance of timely completion, he instructed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work while maintaining the highest quality standards so that these vital public infrastructure projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the Block Development Office (BDO), Pombay, where he reviewed the functioning of the office and assessed the implementation of flagship rural development programmes, particularly MGNREGA and VB-G RAM-G.

During the inspection, Shahzad Alam emphasized strict adherence to prescribed procedures for the disbursement of material payments under MGNREGA/VB-G RAM-G, underscoring the need for transparency, accountability and financial discipline.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure that only genuine labourers whose names are reflected in the muster rolls are engaged at worksites, with regular verification to uphold the integrity of the programme.

He was accompanied by the Chief Planning Officer, Malik Suheel; Sub-Divisional Magistrate, DH Pora, Bashir-ul-Hassan;  Executive Engineer R&B Department, Tehsildar DH Pora and other senior district and block-level officers during the inspection.
