Bandipora : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers during a naka checking operation in the Hajin area and also recovered 4.090 kilograms of a substance resembling Charas powder.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that suspects attempted to flee but were tactfully detained by the police. A case has been registered under FIR No. 87/2026 at Police Station Hajin, and all three individuals have been arrested, with the contraband seized in accordance with legal procedures. Ongoing investigations are being conducted. In a separate incident in Sopore, law enforcers arrested a drug peddler identified as Aaqib Rasool Sheikh, who was found in possession of a charas-like substance during a patrol in Butpora. A case under FIR No. 166/2026 has been registered at Police Station Sopore besides which further investigations are underway. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug-related issues in society and appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing drug peddling activities.
