JCO Injured in Mine Blast During Patrol Along LoC in Rajouri

Rajouri, July 3: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Army was injured in a mine blast during a routine patrol in the forward Jhangar sector along the Line of Control in Rajouri district on Thursday.

Officials told GNS that the incident occurred when an Army patrol was carrying out area domination and surveillance in the forward belt of Jhangar. During the patrol, a sudden explosion took place, leaving the JCO injured.

The injured officer has been identified as Naib Subedar Hiteshwar Gogoi of 14 Assam Regiment.

Following the blast, fellow soldiers immediately launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured officer to a nearby military medical facility for first aid. He was later referred to Command Hospital Udhampur for advanced treatment.

Army officials said his condition is being monitored. Further details are awaited.(GNS)
