Ganderbal : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V.K. Birdi on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive review of security arrangements and deployment plans for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, with a focus on ensuring a safe and seamless pilgrimage.
Accompanied by senior police officers, including the DIG Central Kashmir Range, DIG North Kashmir Range, SSP Srinagar, SSP Ganderbal, SSP Bandipora and SP Operations Srinagar, Birdi inspected the Manigam Transit Camp and reviewed preparedness for one of the key base facilities catering to pilgrims.
Officials said the IGP took stock of security deployment, access control measures, surveillance mechanisms and logistical arrangements at the transit camp, besides reviewing the positioning of police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and other security agencies at strategic locations along the Yatra route.
