Vikramjit Singh reviews development initiatives at Chappar Dhara

Rajouri|June, 25:Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce Vikramjit Singh Thursday  visited Vibrant Village ChapparDhara in Block Panjgrain of Rajouri district and reviewed the progress of developmental initiatives, infrastructure projects and public welfare measures being implemented under the Vibrant Villages Programme.

During the visit, Vikramjit Singh interacted with the residents of ChapparDhara and listened to their issues and demands.

The locals apprised him of various concerns related to development and public services.

The Commissioner Secretary assured the residents that their genuine grievances would be examined and addressed through appropriate action.

Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner Secretary emphasised the importance of effective implementation of government schemes. He encouraged the residents to actively participate in development programmes aimed at socio-economic empowerment, livelihood generation and overall progress of border villages.

The Commissioner Secretary further stated that ChapparDhara has significant potential for eco-tourism and rejuvenation activities, and efforts are being made to develop tourism infrastructure in the area. He added that such initiatives would create new employment and livelihood opportunities for the local population. He also reiterated the administration’s commitment towards saturation of eligible beneficiaries under various government welfare schemes, particularly social security schemes.

Highlighting the importance of a drug-free society, the Commissioner Secretary spoke about the ongoing 100-Day “NashaMukt Jammu & Kashmir” Campaign launched by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir. He appealed to the youth and the general public to extend cooperation to the district administration in making Rajouri a drug-free district.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma informed that eight villages of Rajouri district have been identified under the Vibrant Villages Programme, with special emphasis on strengthening the infrastructure and improving essential services.

He stated that the programme focuses on four major connectivity areas, road connectivity, power connectivity, internet connectivity and television connectivity, to ensure better access to facilities for people living in remote and border areas.

Officers from various departments including Health, PMGSY, PWD, Jal Shakti, Power Development Department, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Horticulture, District Employment and Counselling Centre and other line departments briefed the public about the ongoing developmental works, upcoming projects and welfare schemes being implemented in the area.

The officers also urged the eligible beneficiaries to avail themselves of the benefits of various government initiatives.

CPO Maqsood Ahmed, CAO Rajesh Verma, CAHO Dr. Khalid Najeb, DSHO P.P. Sagotra, DDE Mohammad Nawaz, CEO Mohammad Hafiz, Tehsildar Rajouri Varinder Sharma, BDO PanjgrainShivam Sharma and other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
