Srinagar: Authorities have closed Kupwar-Tanghdar road in North Kashmir Wednesday after fresh snowfall near Sadhna Top.
Over 9 passengers had died near Sadhna Top when a vehicle was swept away by a snow avalanche recently.
Reports said that Sadhan top and its adjacent areas witnessed snowfall on Monday night while on Tuesday intermittent snowfall was reported in the area.
Tehsildar Karnah confirmed that Kupwara-Karnah road has been closed for traffic after the fresh snowfall.
“This road is accident prone and we don’t want to take any risk. The condition of the road is slippery. The locals can avail chopper service on every Monday to reach their destinations,” he said.
