Srinagar, June 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has placed Dr. Syed Maqbool Ahmad Shah, Associate Professor of Cardiology presently deputed to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, under suspension pending an inquiry into his conduct.
According to Government Order No. 504-JK (HME) of 2026 dated 20 June 2026, issued by the Health & Medical Education Department, Dr. Shah has been suspended with immediate effect under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The order states that during the period of suspension, the officer shall remain attached to the office of Government Medical College, Jammu.
The order was issued by M. Raju (IAS), Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Health & Medical Education Department.
