DC Srinagar assesses modernization & safety compliant upgradation of vulnerable DTs

Labroo directs time-bound infra & safety compliant upgradation

 

Srinagar :  Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, AkshayLabroo, Thursday conducted on-site inspections of various vulnerable Distribution Transformer Substations (DTs) across the District to assess their operational condition, evaluate infrastructure deficiencies and ensure uninterrupted power supply and public safety.

The DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, IAS Probationer, Alfred Thomas, Superintending Engineer KPDCL Circle-I, Superintending Engineer KPDCL Circle-II, Executive Engineer KPDCL Division-III, Executive Engineer KPDCL Division-II, and other concerned officers.

During the inspection, the DC reviewed the condition of vulnerable and deteriorated Distribution Transformer Substations at Nawab Bazar, Nawa Kadal, and other areas of the district. He directed the concerned Officers and Engineers to initiate modernisation and safety compliant upgradation works at the earliest.

On the occasion, the DC stressed the need for comprehensive improvement and strengthening of structurally weak and deteriorated substations through the replacement of damaged poles, cross-arms, insulators, switchgear, and other defective equipment in accordance with prescribed safety and technical standards.

He directed the Officers to ensure the timely completion of critical  works on a priority basis to provide consumers with a safe, reliable and uninterrupted power supply. He also emphasized the removal and proper disposal of old and damaged structures while strictly adhering to all technical and safety nor

The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of time-bound infrastructure upgradation and directed all concerned agencies to expedite the modernization of vulnerable substations to strengthen the power distribution network, ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and enhance public safety across the District.
