Bandipora: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Sajjad Hussain Wednesday asked Power Development Department (PDD) engineers to strictly adhere to timeline fixed by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan for proper implementation of commitments made by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti during her outreach program in the district.
The DDC was addressing a meeting of District and Sectoral officers Wednesday on a second consecutive day to review the progress of implementation of CM’s commitments.
It was given out in the meeting that a Transformer Bank with a capacity of 26 transformers has been established in the district which will facilitate easy replacement of damaged transformers wherever, it is required. It was also informed that the process for procurement of poles and conductor will be completed by next month in all the three constituencies Bandipora, Sonawari and Gurez.
The meeting also discussed various issues with regard to the implementation of other decisions that need administrative approval. On this account, the DDC directed concerned officers to take up such issues with concerned higher up so that the decisions are implemented at an earliest.
The meeting also reviewed various other non-engineering sectors including Agriculture, Horticulture, Education and Forests. The meeting informed that during last one year State Forest Corporation has dumped 1.47lakh CFT of timber in Bandipora, Sonawari and Gurez constituencies, of which 85000cft have been distributed among people, benefiting 2145 families.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said the concerned officer would be responsible for proper implementation of the decisions and completion of works.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Abdul Majeed was also present at the meeting.
