Students’ issues in Iran, civic matters, film on narco-terror discussed

Kulgam: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a series of meetings in Srinagar on Monday, interacting with representatives from civil society, public bodies, and the creative sector.
A delegation of the J&K Iran Medical Students Parents Association (JKIMSPA), led by its President Suhail Qadri, called on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues concerning students from Jammu and Kashmir pursuing MBBS courses in various universities in Iran.
The delegation raised concerns related to academic continuity, student welfare, and other challenges faced by students studying in Iran. The Lieutenant Governor assured the delegation that the issues raised would receive due attention.
In another meeting, Shri Mohd Iqbal Ahanger, Chairman of the Coordination Committee J&K and former President of the Municipal Committee Dooru-Verinag, called on the Lieutenant Governor. During the interaction, various public and civic issues concerning the region were discussed.
In a separate meeting, writer and filmmaker Rajesh Raja also called on the Lieutenant Governor. He presented a brief synopsis of his upcoming feature film titled “Tulsi,” based on the issue of narco-terrorism.
The film seeks to highlight the growing menace of drug abuse and its nexus with terror financing, a challenge that has emerged as a serious concern for society.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the efforts of individuals and organizations working towards addressing public concerns and spreading awareness on important social issues.
