Jorhat, June 13: An AN-32 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed at the Jorhat Air Force Station in Assam on Saturday, officials said.
According to the IAF, the aircraft met with an accident at the airbase, though the exact cause of the crash has not been disclosed yet.
Officials said firefighting and emergency response teams were immediately rushed to the site, and rescue operations are currently underway.
Reports indicate that the aircraft was attempting to land at the Jorhat airfield when the accident occurred. Authorities are assessing the situation, while further details regarding the crew and extent of damage are awaited.
