Police Disengages SPO for Involvement in NDPS Case in Baramulla

Baramulla, June 10: Baramulla Police has disengaged SPO Khalid Nazir Khan (3098/SPO), resident of Katipora, Tangmarg, from the SPO cadre with immediate effect following his involvement in an NDPS case.

A Police spokesperson said that On 23.04.2026, during a naka checking at Wussan Crossing by Police Station Kunzer, an Alto vehicle was intercepted. The occupants, including the said SPO, were found in a suspicious condition. During checking, syringes and needles were recovered from their possession, while silver foil paper used for the consumption of narcotic substances was recovered from the vehicle.

Accordingly, FIR nr 46/2026 under Sections 8/27/29 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kunzer. In view of the serious involvement and conduct unbecoming of a member of a disciplined force, the SPO has been disengaged from service with immediate effect.

Baramulla Police follows a zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and misconduct and remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and accountability within its ranks.
