Police Launches ‘Pahchan App’ in G’bal Ahead of Amarnath Yatra 2026

Ganderbal :  Police in Ganderbal have introduced the “Pahchan App,” a QR code-based digital platform designed to enhance security and streamline the Amarnath Yatra 2026.

Officials said that initiative has been taken for registration and verification of service providers in key tourist and pilgrimage areas, including Thajwas Glacier, Zero Point Zojila, and the Baltal axis. Each registered service provider will receive a unique QR code that allows for instant verification by both security personnel and visitors. This system aims to create a secure and accountable service environment during the Yatra by maintaining a verified database of service providers, thereby simplifying verification processes and preventing unauthorized access to pilgrimage and tourism infrastructure. The app is expected to improve the overall visitor experience by fostering transparency and accountability, enabling pilgrims and tourists to confidently access verified services. Additionally, it supports legitimate service providers by granting them an authenticated digital identity, facilitating smoother interactions with visitors and authorities.
