DC Bandipora visits reviews progress of under-construction Public Health Integrated Laboratory

Bandipora :Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Friday visited District Hospital Bandipora to review the progress of the under-construction Public Health Integrated Laboratory being established at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 80 lakh under the National Health Mission (NHM).

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various components of the project and assessed the pace and quality of the ongoing construction works. She was briefed by the concerned officials about the status of the project and the facilities being developed under it.

Officials informed the Deputy Commissioner that around 80 percent of the work has been completed. It was further informed that the project, which was originally scheduled for completion in April 2026, is now expected to be completed by July 2026. The construction work is being executed by HSCC.

Highlighting the importance of the laboratory in strengthening healthcare services in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agency to expedite the remaining work and ensure completion within the revised timeline while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

She emphasized that the facility will significantly enhance diagnostic capabilities and improve access to quality healthcare services for the people of the district.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Maqbool, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Malla, representatives of NHM, officials of HSCC, and other concerned officers.
