DC assesses scale of damage in flash flood hit Thathri

Doda :Deputy Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal Friday visited Thathri to assess the situation arising from the recent flash flood and lightning incident that caused damage to public infrastructure and private property in the area. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Sheetal Sharma and Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Manesh Kumar Manhas and other concerned officers.

The Deputy Commissioner conducted an on-the-spot inspection of the affected areas and reviewed the extent of damage caused by the natural calamity. He visited the residences of affected families and interacted with the victims to understand their concerns and assess their immediate requirements. The DC also inspected the damaged Block Development Office building, a local madrassa, school premises, portions of the mosque and the residential houses affected by the incident.

Expressing solidarity with the affected families, the Deputy Commissioner assured them of all possible assistance from the District Administration. He directed the concerned departments to undertake a detailed assessment of damages and submit reports at the earliest to facilitate timely relief and rehabilitation measures. He also instructed officials to ensure the restoration of essential services and maintain close coordination for effective response and support to the affected population.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for preventive measures and preparedness to minimize the impact of such incidents in the future. He directed the concerned agencies to identify vulnerable locations, strengthen disaster management mechanisms and remain vigilant during adverse weather conditions.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to public welfare, he assured that every effort would be made to provide relief and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected residents.
