Srinagar:In observance of World Environment Day, the Directorate of Floriculture, Gardens & Parks, Kashmir Division Friday organised extensive plantation drives simultaneously across all gardens, public parks and recreational green spaces under its jurisdiction throughout the Kashmir Valley.
The plantation drives were carried out in unison across the Directorate’s establishments, including the Mughal Gardens, Polo ground park, Emporium Garden and scores of public parks spread across Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Pulwama and other districts of the Kashmir Division.
Officers and staff of the Directorate participated in the drives, planting indigenous flowering species, ornamental trees, and native shrubs with the dual purpose of enhancing visual aesthetics and ecological resilience.
The Directorate of Floriculture, Gardens & Parks, Kashmir Division, reiterates that plantation and green cover enhancement is not a one-day activity but a year-round priority embedded in its operational mandate.
The Department intends to sustain this momentum through its ongoing nursery and development programmes.
