Anantnag : Police on Friday said that it has attached a double-storied residential house along with a high-density apple orchard belonging to one Mohammad Ashraf Dar son of Abdul Rehman Dar resident of Tulkhan in Anantnag district under the provisions of Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
In its statement Police said that the attached property, with an estimated market value of approximately ₹70 lakh, is suspected to have been acquired from proceeds of illicit drug trafficking. The action has been taken in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act to prevent the transfer, sale, disposal, or any other form of alienation of the property pending further legal proceedings. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat menace of drug trafficking by targeting not only the offenders but also the assets generated through illegal activities. Such measures will continue as part of a comprehensive strategy to dismantle drug networks and safeguard the community from the harmful effects of substance abuse.
