Sopore: Police, in coordination with civil departments on Wednesday destroyed illegal poppy and cannabis cultivation in Shopian, Anantnag and Sopore as part of the ongoing NashaMukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan.
Reports said that I n Shopian, illicit poppy cultivation was destroyed in Amshipora and a case registered at Heerpora Police Station. In Anantnag, authorities destroyed a poppy plantation spread over one marla in Achabal and registered an FIR. In Sopore, a joint team of Police and Excise Department destroyed wild cannabis growth in Panzalla and collected samples for examination.
