G’bal: The Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, has called upon the aspiring students nationwide to take advantage of the university’s admission opportunities, highlighting its commitment to academic innovation, enhanced student support, infrastructure development, and international collaborations.
Addressing a press conference here the Vice Chancellor while taling about the university’s alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasized extensive curriculum redesign to meet industry needs and research priorities, while also promoting the Indian Knowledge System and human values. Prof. Nath introduced a unique credit-based fee structure that allows students to reduce academic expenses by earning credits through recognized online platforms. The university has expanded financial support through a tuition fee waiver program for socio-economically disadvantaged students, alongside initiatives like the Student Assistance Fund (SAF) and the Earn While Learn (EWL) scheme, which provides students with opportunities to earn while gaining professional experience. Significant infrastructure development is underway at the Tulmulla campus, supported by a Rs 500 crore grant from the Government of India, which will include new academic blocks, research facilities, and student amenities. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved several new programs for the academic year 2026–27, including various B.Tech and M.Tech degrees, as well as MBA programs. Additionally, the university’s law programs have received approval from the Bar Council of India, and education programs have been sanctioned by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The university has commenced admissions for postgraduate programs for the 2026–27 academic session, offering a wide range of disciplines. The registration process for Ph.D. programs has also begun, with applications open until June 17, 2026. Prof. Nath reiterated the university’s dedication to academic excellence, inclusivity, and nation-building through quality higher education, while Prof. Shahid Rasool emphasized the importance of transparency and outreach in showcasing the university’s progress and achievements.
