Srinagar : Director General J&K Police Nalin Prabhat on Tuesday chaired a meeting at Police Control Room Kashmir to review security arrangements for upcoming Eid-Ul-Adha & Amarnath Yatra-2026 at PCR Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from various security agencies, including the J&K Police, CRPF, ITBP, and Railways, focusing on security arrangements for the upcoming Eid celebrations and the Amarnath Yatra. Addressing the meeting DGP Prabhat emphasized the need for effective crowd management at mosques and key venues to ensure peaceful celebrations. Nalin Prabhat highlighted the importance of enhancing security measures, deploying personnel at sensitive locations, and increasing surveillance to prevent overcrowding and address potential security threats. Officers provided detailed briefings on security and logistical preparations for Amaranth Yatra , stressing the necessity for seamless coordination among all agencies involved. The DGP directed district heads to ensure proper arrangements for the induction of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies and their efficient deployment. He underscored the importance of adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adopting proactive strategies to counter threats, particularly during the yatra period. Additionally, Nalin Prabhat instructed field formations to intensify efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem and enhance area domination along pilgrimage routes. The deployment of Anti-Sabotage teams and advanced surveillance systems was also mandated to improve threat detection and response capabilities. The meeting concluded with a commitment from all agencies to maintain high levels of coordination and operational efficiency to ensure the peaceful and secure conduct of the Amarnath Yatra.
