Srinagar :Several delegations and representatives from social, political, business and sports organizations called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar on Sunday and discussed various developmental and sectoral issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.
A delegation of volunteers from Gujarat-based Vishwagram Trust led by its Founder Sanjay Bhavsar briefed the Lieutenant Governor about their outreach programmes in border villages of Uri sector in Baramulla district. The delegation shared details of creative and educational activities being conducted for youth and students in border schools, including workshops on filmmaking, music, arts and crafts, toy making and interactive educational games.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the Trust for its contribution in border areas and highlighted the transformational journey of Jammu and Kashmir in recent years. He also spoke about flagship initiatives including the NashaMukt J&K Abhiyan and Vibrant Villages Programme.
Meanwhile, President of J&K Janta Dal United (JDU) GM Shaheen also called on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues related to the promotion of tourism in the region.
President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Javid Ahmad Tenga, accompanied by Bashir Ahmad Naik, President of J&K Fruits and Vegetables Processing and Integrated Cold Chain Association, also met the Lieutenant Governor.
In another meeting, a delegation of Badal Hockey Club Kashmir led by its President S. Harmeet Singh Sasan called on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed matters related to sports activities and youth engagement in the Valley.
