Srinagar :Annual Cycle Race for Boys 2026 was organized successfully Saturday by Physical Education Department of Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar with great enthusiasm and participation from students.
The event began at Nehru Park and concluded at the historic Shalimar Garden, emphasizing sportsmanship, fitness, and youth engagement. It was officially launched by SSP Srinagar City, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, alongside Principal Prof. (Dr.) Masood Ahmad Malik, faculty members, officials, and students. During his address, SSP Bhat highlighted the increasing issue of drug abuse among youth and underscored the significance of organizing constructive activities for students. He noted that sports and physical activities are crucial for positively channeling youth energy and contributing to their overall development. He commended the college administration for its efforts in promoting fitness, discipline, and healthy living. Prof. Malik praised the enthusiastic involvement of students and reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to fostering co-curricular and sports activities. He stressed the importance of physical activities for students’ growth and well-being, encouraging them to reduce screen time and engage more in sports and outdoor events. The event saw a large turnout of students who exhibited impressive energy, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the race. Security and traffic management were effectively coordinated with the Srinagar Traffic Police to ensure the event’s smooth execution. The program concluded on an uplifting note, reinforcing the commitment to promoting fitness, healthy lifestyles, and constructive youth engagement through sports and recreational activities.
