DC Kishtwar reviews Census-2027 preparedness

Stresses spreading mass awareness for 100% Self-Enumeration

 

Kishtwar :: Deputy Commissioner/Principal Census Officer Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Census Coordination Committee to review the preparedness and progress regarding Census-2027 activities, particularly self-enumeration, House listing & Housing Census, training programmes and House Listing Block demarcation work in the district.

At the outset, Additional District Census Officer (DSEO) informed the meeting that one batch of District Field Trainers has completed training, while 7 batches of Enumerators and Supervisors are being imparted training at different venues.

It was further informed that of 539 HLBs, geo-tagging work has been completed at 419 and demarcation work in 418, registering around 77 percent progress.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Charge Officers to ensure completion of the remaining work within the stipulated timeline.

All Charge Census Officers were asked to work in close coordination with Field Trainers, Panchayats, Urban Local Bodies and departmental nodal officers for effective public mobilization and the smooth conduct of self-enumeration activities in their respective jurisdictions.

Emphasizing the importance of exercise, the Deputy Commissioner stated that Census data forms the backbone of developmental planning and appealed to the general public to actively participate in self-enumeration and cooperate with census functionaries for the successful conduct of the exercise in District Kishtwar.

The meeting was attended by ADC  (DCO) Pawan Kotwal ; PO ICDS  Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma; CPO  Akhil Thakur; ACD  Manoj Kumar; DSWO  Tariq Parveaz Qazi; CEO Municipal Council  Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal; Tehsildar HQA to DC  Mohd. Rafie Naik; Tehsildar  Nirbhay Sharma; DSEO  (ADCO) Suresh Sharma; CEO  Sanjay Dogra; besides other officers and concerned staff.
