Srinagar, May 12: A police personnel posted as Personal Security Officer (PSO) with a social activist died after suffering an electric shock at a temple in Srinagar on Tuesday, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the police personnel, posted as PSO with a social activist, received an electric shock at a temple in the Habakadal area of Srinagar.
He said the policeman was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased was later identified as Veerji Koul, a Selection Grade Constable (SGCT).
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident.—(KNO)
